Tanzania: Former Santa Ana Zoo director to lead safari tour

The Santa Ana Zoo is offering a 12-day safari to Tanzania in May, escorted by retired zoo director Ron Glazier, who has led 21 African safaris.
The tour is timed to see the great migration of zebras and wildebeests on the savanna of Serengeti National Park. Other highlights include Ngorongoro Crater and its black-maned lions and black rhinos; Tarangire National Park, known for its elephants; Lake Manyara National Park, with more than 350 species of birds; and Olduvai Gorge and the paleo-anthropological work of Mary and Louis Leakey. Accommodations are in first-class lodges and the luxury Kirawira tented camp in the western Serengeti. An optional five-day extension to Zanzibar also is available.
Dates: May 14-25.
Price: $6,995 per person, double occupancy. $995 single supplement. Includes flights within Africa, all meals while on safari, wildlife viewing, park entry fees and guides. Does not include international airfare.
