Baby on board? Not in Malaysia Airlines’ first-class section, CEO tweets

Baby, your first-class days are over on Malaysia Airlines. Now that might be something to cry about.
Earlier this month, Chief Executive Tengku Azmil confirmed on Twitter that babies have gotten the boot from first class. Check out the tweets on this topic from Azmil, @tengkuazmil (whose full name is Tengku Dato’ Sri Azmil Zahruddin).
When asked by Twitter users to confirm his airline’s first-class ban on infants, Azmil responded June 19 in separate tweets: “That’s true. Has bn 4 a while now” and “Also hv many complaints from 1st class pax dat dey spend money on 1st class & can’t sleep due to crying infants.”
David Flynn, editor of Australian Business Traveller, wrote that he also had a Twitter exchange with Azmil, who said infants are banned from first class in the airline’s current 747-400s and will also be banned from first class on the airline’s Airbus A380s when they come on line next year. The airline will continue to allow infants in coach and business classes.
Malaysia Airlines’ website describes infants as younger than 2 years old, but there’s no mention of the first-class baby ban.
