Video: A Tex-Mex minute in Austin

Austin gets a lot of attention for its live-music scene and the annual SXSW festival, an ever-expanding multimedia juggernaut that goes back to 1987. But it’s also home to the LBJ Presidential Library and plenty of barbecue and Tex-Mex restaurants.
Here’s a video moment — shot in September — that starts in the hushed rooms of the LBJ library and winds up at a live show in the Continental Club, a music venue that goes back to the 1950s. Along the way, you’ll also glimpse Guero’s Taco Bar and a sudden downpour on South Congress Avenue.
“A Minute Away” is a video series in which nothing much happens — except you see the world, and hear it, and get a minute’s respite from workaday life. (Actually, some are as long as 1:40.) These are casual moments without talking heads or narration — just natural sound from Machu Picchu, Red Square, the Yucatan, an Alaska float plane or the reading room of the New York Public Library.
