Getting there
From Los Angeles to Cottonwood Cove, Lake Mohave, take Interstate 10 east to Interstate 15 north (toward Las Vegas). Turn right on Nipton Road, which becomes Nevada 164 and then turns into Cottonwood Cove Road.
Renting a houseboat
Lake Mead National Recreation Area has two houseboat rental companies. Rental prices vary by season.
Forever Resorts, (800) 255-5561, https://www.foreveresorts.com, rents 56- to 65-foot houseboats at Cottonwood Cove on Lake Mohave and 56- to 70-foot boats at Callville Bay on Lake Mead.
Seven Crown Resorts, (800) 752-9669, https://www.sevencrown.com, rents houseboats at Katherine Landing on Lake Mohave and Echo Bay Harbor at Lake Mead.
