Clippers Open Training Camp Today

With center Benoit Benjamin an expected contract holdout, the Clippers will open training camp today at Cal Poly Pomona in preparation for their sixth season in Los Angeles.
The Clippers Thursday gave guard Gary Grant a new contract, tearing up the last two years on his three-year deal in favor of a fresh four-year agreement.
Barring any last-minute developments, Benjamin will be missing, as his new three-man representation team talks contract with the team officials. It is the third straight year the Clippers will be without a key member at the start of camp because of contract differences. Two years ago, Michael Cage held out, and last year it was Danny Manning.
